An overcast and damp weekend with snow in the gullies but most of the course was runnerable if heavy going across the heather and through two good deep streams. David Kirk was the only HBR athlete to complete the 8.2 mile race and 1100 feet of climbing.
David finished in 35th position out of a field of 101 and in a time of 72.38 which won him first position and a bottle of whiskey in the O/55 yrs category. He felt he had a good run especially over the final third where he clawed back four places and had a great run in. Full results can be found on the Esk Valley Fell Runners web site and photographs on the New Marske Harriers web site.
